7 Smartphones You Should Get This Holiday Season

Share

Everyone’s favorite time of the year is here! What better way to spend the holidays than by getting yourself or your loved one a new gadget?
Smartphone companies have been adding new devices to their product lineup to lure customers into purchasing the latest phone iteration just in time for the holiday.
We made the rounds to let you in on what’s the coolest gadget worth checking out this Yuletide season.

  1. iPhone 8 / 8 Plus

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are ditching the aluminum body for a glass back form factor to allow wireless charging. This technology can come pretty handy as you can still use your phone while it’s charging.
You’ll also love the True Tone feature, which uses the phone’s sensors to match screen color temperature with the surrounding’s lighting conditions. Your phone can determine the brightness and intensity of white light you need to help you look comfortably at your screen whether you’re in your bedroom or at the mall where the lighting conditions are different.

  1. iPhone X

The iPhone X (pronounced as “iPhone 10”) is Apple’s 10th year anniversary iPhone, and the flagship device is impressive any way you look at it. From aesthetics with its edge-to-edge OLED display to its cutting-edge Face ID technology, you’d want to have first dibs on the iPhone X.
Speaking of Face ID, you can now pay for your holiday purchases using Apple Pay on your iPhone X using this security feature. Just make sure that your debit card or credit card is enrolled with Apple Pay. At the pay counter, you’ll only need to bring your Face ID near the reader to complete the payment. Voila!

  1. Huawei P10

The P10 from Huawei could easily be mistaken for an iPhone 7 in terms of design and finish, save for the USB Type-C port instead of the iPhone’s proprietary Lightning cable port and, of course, the Huawei branding on the back of the phone.
If you’re in charge of taking your family portrait around the Christmas tree, you’ll definitely appreciate the phone’s best feature yet – the dual cameras, which have been designed by German company, Leica. The dual-lens camera setup also comes with both monochrome and normal color sensors so that the first sensor captures immaculate images in black and white, and the second sensor renders color shots with all their rich details.

  1. Galaxy Note 8

Samsung has bounced back from the Galaxy Note 7’s exploding batteries fiasco with the Note 8 variant, as many experts in the smartphone industry gave the Galaxy Note 8 positive reviews. You might also find yourself raving that the Galaxy Note 8 is on the list of Netflix’s HDR-supported devices, allowing you to play back your favorite Netflix HDR content on your smartphone anytime, anywhere.

  1. LG V30

LG V30 is described as the “ultimate creativity tool”—thanks to its dual cameras, one of which has wide-angle capabilities. This feature should be a welcome one for capturing large family gatherings so that you could be sure everyone gets into the picture.
What’s more is that LG V30’s earpiece and speaker work well together to give you excellent call quality, which is a must in case you need to talk to someone on your phone in the middle of a party.

  1. HTC U11

The HTC U11 is a unique phone with squeezable sides, which when triggered, can launch the flashlight or camera widgets on your device. You can also use the Edge Sense technology’s second squeeze feature to take a snapshot very quickly, say, of an old colleague you’ve been dying to see again from several Christmases ago.
The U11 also water resistant, which can withstand dips in up to 39 inches of water for around 30 minutes.

  1. BlackBerry KEYone

BlackBerry is, of course, known for its classic QWERTY keyboard, which is being revived in the KEYone model, but with a few nifty enhancements. The physical keyboard you will see on the KEYone now has a modern stainless steel and faux leather design, as well as an improved tactile feel to it. So it’s easier to type a message and spread positive holiday vibes for those in your Messenger list.
Its battery can last you through 24 hours or more, allowing you to remain productive despite the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season.
It’s definitely worth investing in these phones as a present for yourself or someone you love. Hopefully, phone distributors will be putting these items on a discount sale or promo, but in case not, there’s still hope for you getting one of them this holiday season. Check if your old phones are qualified for online pawning so that you can get a new one that will surely cheer you up for the holidays.
